Where would a week of rent and tube travel take you?
In the need for some 2018 travel inspiration? I have the perfect fun little tool to get you dreaming about your next adventure.
Leading online travel agency loveholidays has created an interactive tube map which highlights some of the holiday destinations that can be enjoyed in exchange for a week of rent and tube travel in the UK’s capital and not surprisingly most expensive city.
Do you live in London?
If you do, you’ll know how pricey the city can be. But did you know what kind of a holiday those living expenses could buy you?
The fun interactive tool from loveholidays calculates what one kind of trip you could book for the cost of one week of tube travel and bills in London. Simply pop in where you live and where you commute to, and the calculator will create a random holiday suggestion that costs the same.
I had a play around with the tool to see how it works. A few years ago, I used to live in Brixton and work in Bank (not a fun station to commute to on a Monday morning, let me tell you!). Based on the average weekly travel cost to Bank and cost of living in Brixton, a week in London used to cost me £444 a week. And that money could by me an all-inclusive holiday to Rhodes.
Of course, it’s just a bit of fun – but it’s a great way to get some holiday inspiration. And we all need a bit of that this time of year! Have a play and let me know what holiday you get.
Who are loveholidays?
Launched in 2012, loveholidays is one of the fastest growing travel agencies in the UK. The site offers a wide range of holidays to short and long haul destinations. But what’s fun about the loveholidays is their bespoke search function. Instead of restricting you to date and destination, they let you search using terms like weather, board basis and budget – so you can find the perfect holiday for you.
This post was brought to you in collaboration with loveholidays. As always, absolutely all words and opinions are my own.
