If you’re a fan of old-school Americana, the California Dreaming Airstream is IDEAL. This beautifully refurbished American Airstream has everything you need for a luxurious stay – as well as bags of retro charm.

The vintage aluminium caravan sits in a picturesque countryside setting overlooking a meadowed valley. Just imagine waking up in a plush king-sized bed to glorious Devon countryside out of the windows on all sides.

As well as a small kitchenette and dining area inside the Airstream, there’s also a covered outdoor kitchen complete with an Ooni pizza oven, fire pit, barbecue, and sink. So you can make the most of the great outdoors as much as possible

It’s set within acres of peaceful woodland, with views over a lake filled with water-lilies, so this really is the place for an escape back to nature. And with no light pollution in the area, you can enjoy some incredible stargazing on clear nights.

The cosy cabin has everything you need to be comfy in your home-away-from-home. From the king-sized bed and well-stocked kitchenette in the pastel-blue interior, to the outdoor patio area with barbecue.

Beavers Lodge Safari Tent

Enjoy all the best bits of camping with none of the tricky bits at Beaver’s Lodge Safari Tent. This remote hideaway lies on a farm in a valley above the River Otter, with gorgeous views of the rolling countryside.

This is a true off-grid escape. The safari tent runs solely on solar power, and the outdoor hot tub is wood-fired. Why not lean into it: switch off your smartphones and simply enjoy your time amongst nature.

Don’t let the word “tent” fool you – this is much more than your standard camping experience. With wood-panelled walls and wooden floors inside, Beaver’s Lodge feels more like a cabin than a tent. You get proper beds in the bedrooms (one double and one twin), a full kitchen, and an ensuite bathroom. So this is definitely next-level camping!

Those looking for unique places to stay in Devon won’t be disappointed by Swallow’s Nest. This quirky, bespoke holiday cottage lies on Hatherland Mill Farm – an award-winning traditional smallholding with a big focus on sustainability. 

Expect exposed beams and stone walls – some engraved with medieval patterns designed to ward off witchcraft – as well as reclaimed furniture and PLENTY of luxurious touches, all housed within a cute and cosy cottage.

As well as the kitchen inside the property, you can also enjoy your very own private courtyard with an incredible outdoor kitchen. One which boasts a wood-fired pizza oven and a Japanese-style Kamado barbecue with ceramic smoker. Ideal for a bit of al fresco dining – accompanied by a pint or two from the farm’s very own micro-brewery.

The Wagon with Faraway Views

This quirky little wooden wagon comes packed with plenty of luxurious touches to keep you comfy on your countryside escape. There’s a fitted kitchen (complete with a full-sized oven) and a bespoke dining table that converts into one of the double beds. You’ll find the other bed in a little mezzanine bedroom tucked into the roof of the wagon, with a porthole window overlooking that rolling countryside.

Stay cosy with the wood-burner (and extra radiators) on cooler nights, and make the most of warmer weather with the barbecue. Oh, and there’s also a hot tub for enjoying stunning views of the sweeping farmland. What more could you ask for?

Last, but by no means least, we have the beautiful Bowhay Shepherd’s Hut in the picturesque Dart Valley.

A pretty little shepherd’s hut with a bright white country-cottage interior, complete with a well-stocked kitchenette and dining area, this little gem has all kinds of unique touches to make it an excellent place to stay. There’s even a record player and a hamper with games for cosy nights in.

Outside, you have a hot tub, garden furniture and fire-pit barbecue – so you can make the most of your idyllic countryside surroundings to your heart’s content.
