2018 travel round up

Do you consider yourself a theme park enthusiast? Just can’t get enough of the rush of flying through the air with your hands held high? If so, you absolutely have to travel to Universal Studios. While it can be a bit expensive, it is worth the ticket price. In fact, there are a few rides that are worth the price of admission alone!

Revenge of the Mummy

Even though it’s been a while since the movies came out, the ride is still a fan favorite. First off, the line to actually get to the ride is Egyptian-themed, with cool interactive pieces that can flicker the lights in the room or send ominous sounds echoing through the ride. And while the ride itself may not be intentionally scary, it’s definitely a little more on the spooky side, with dark tunnels, crawling beetles, and a room that bursts into flames! Let’s hope this Universal Studios ride stays put for many years to come.

Jurassic World VelociCoaster

While the Jurrasic Park River Adventure is a splash—pun intended—the VelociCoaster takes it to a whole new level. You rush along the Jurrasic terrain which is inhabited by packs of velociraptors, zooming, spinning, and looping past the park at breakneck speeds all the while. It’s definitely one of the most thrilling rides in the park, with only a couple of other coasters even getting close to matching it. As long as you’re 51 inches tall and don’t mind having your hair blasted back even after the ride has ended, there’s no reason to skip out on this one.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

This ride is a requirement for any Harry Potter fans out there. Located in Diagon Alley inside the Gringotts bank—if you have trouble finding the building, it’s the one with the fire-breathing dragon sitting on top of it—the lines for this ride can get pretty long. However, it also has some of the most interesting environments to keep you entertained in the meantime. You enter the bank and can observe the gigantic chandelier hanging above goblins as they work. These things look like they were pulled straight out of the movies!

You pass the vaults and once you finally board, it’s all hands on deck. The mix of coaster elements and 3D effects make it feel like you’re really exploring the caverns of Gringotts, and once it’s all done, you’ll be ready to get back in line!

But Wait, There’s More!

These three rides make heading to Universal Studios worth it all on their own, but that doesn’t mean they’re the only good rides in the park. Some other great rides include the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, The Incredible Hulk Coaster, and The Simpsons rides, not to mention all of the other great attractions and forms of entertainment the park has to offer. So put in some vacation time at work, regardless of if that’s something like retail or safety manufacturing like at OTW Safety, and prepare for the time of your life!
