Our first week in Colombia seems like so long ago now I can hardly believe it. Way back in February, Sam and I flew from the UK to Colombia to kick off our five month trip in South America. The trip was the biggest adventure of my life, and the adventures started right in the first week when we arrived in Bucaramanga after a few days in Bogotá. We’d only picked Bucaramanga as a convenient halfway point to break up the long journey to the coast, but when we got there we wound up having one of the most memorable experiences of the trip: paragliding.

You can read more about the experience on my blog post from the time, but I wanted to share a few more of the photos that our pilots took on their Go Pro cameras. The company gave us CDs with the photos on, and I’ve been carrying those around since February with no way to view them – so we only saw these photos for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

Paragliding, Bucaramanga

Paragliding in Bucaramanga was an amazing experience – the thrill of flying above the city and the miniature trees, the wind whipping my face, my legs dangling over the rolling valleys. It’s a feeling that’s very hard to describe – the adrenaline, my stomach in knots, the woosh as the paraglide dropped and swooped – but it was a fantastic one and something that I’ll remember forever…
